About AggressionDogTrainer
A free matching service built on one principle: dog owners with aggressive dogs deserve honest information and access to genuinely qualified professionals โ not marketing fluff or unverified "experts."
Our Mission
AggressionDogTrainer exists because finding real help for a dog with aggression issues is harder than it should be. Google returns franchise landing pages, Yelp listings with no credential verification, and YouTube "training" channels mixing in outdated dominance theory. The dog owner, already stressed and scared, has no reliable way to distinguish a credentialed behavior consultant from someone who completed a weekend certification.
Our mission is simple: give dog owners a trustworthy starting point. That means transparent information about credentials, realistic pricing data, and a free matching tool that connects owners with verified specialists โ not just anyone who answered an ad.
Our Credential Standards
We are serious about who we recommend. Every specialist in our network must hold at minimum one of the following verifiable credentials:
Certified Professional Dog Trainer โ Knowledge Assessed. Issued by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Requires demonstrated case hours, references, and passing a proctored exam. Verifiable at CCPDT.org.
International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (IAABC-CCS) requires documented case hours in complex behavioral cases. Verifiable at IAABC.org.
Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist. Graduate degree in animal behavior + 5+ years post-degree professional experience. Issued by the Animal Behavior Society.
Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. Veterinarians with specialty residency training in behavioral medicine. The highest credential level in our network.
What we do not list: Trainers without verifiable credentials from recognized professional bodies. Self-proclaimed certifications, franchise brand credentials (which are not independently verified), or trainers who use punishment-based methods for aggression modification. We check. If we can't verify it on CCPDT.org or IAABC.org, it doesn't count.
How We Match You With a Specialist
Our matching process works in three steps:
- Free aggression assessment: The 8-question quiz gives us context about your dog's specific aggression type and severity. This lets us filter the specialist pool to those with documented experience matching your dog's needs.
- Geographic matching: We match you with specialists within your area โ or within a reasonable drive for board-and-train programs. Some specialists offer virtual behavioral consultations for owners who can't access in-person services.
- Introduction and handoff: We share your dog's brief description with 2โ3 matched specialists. They reach out to schedule a discovery call. No pressure, no obligation. If none are a fit, we'll look further.
This service is free to dog owners. Specialists pay for access to our network. We don't take percentages of training fees or take commission on referrals.
